At China Hut Haitian Restaurant, located at 2998 NW 55th Ave in Lauderhill, FL, culinary magic happens daily, bringing the vibrant flavors of Haiti right to your plate. Known for its authentic Haitian cuisine, this humble eatery has become a beloved staple in the community, a gem often recognized by those who truly appreciate the depth and character of Haitian food.
As you step into the China Hut, you're welcomed into a bustling environment where the kitchen hums with activity, and the irresistible aromas of spices and freshly prepared dishes envelop you. Though it's primarily a take-out spot, the wait outside only heightens the excitement of enjoying some of the most flavorful meals you'll ever taste.
The menu boasts a variety of traditional dishes, each crafted with love and care. For a hearty meal, try the Fried Goat Comple (Cabrit), served with white rice or rice & beans, plantains, and the delightful zing of piklis—a spicy and tangy side that beautifully complements the rich and tender goat meat. Another standout is the Legume, a flavorful mix of fresh vegetables that exemplifies the roots of Haitian cooking, perfect when paired with fluffy white rice. You can't go wrong with the Fried Chicken Comple either, which is another fan favorite that shines with crispy perfection and juicy tenderness.
What sets China Hut apart is not just the stellar food; it's the unwavering quality and consistency they've maintained over the years, as expressed by loyal patrons. One customer, Nathan ILL, raves about their Tassot Turkey and Goat, highlighting how popular the spot is, with many people waiting outside—a testament to the cuisine's allure. Similarly, Queen Nicole Bates shares her experiences from over a decade of dining here, noting that the freshly prepared meals taste even better the next day, showcasing the kitchen's dedication to quality.
While some reviews mention the surrounding neighborhood may not feel entirely safe after dark, the warmth and friendliness of the staff, along with the exceptional food, make it worth the visit. As Christopher Crossman puts it, "they work Haitian magic in that kitchen," and many agree that the delectable flavors are worth the wait, and perhaps even the risk. Time and time again, customers return, led by the shared belief that the culinary experience at China Hut is unparalleled in Broward County.

There a plenty of Haitian restaurants in the greater Ft. Lauderdale area but this is by far my favorite and I honestly think that’s it’s the best one. Every time I order I see plenty of people outside the location waiting for the food and my advise is simply, order over the phone to pick up as you will be waiting. I usually order the Tassot Turkey or Goat which is always on point. They have it simple, with plantains or complete, with rice and plantains. Either way it’s a good amount of food for a great price. Only reason it doesn’t get the full 5 starts is the location. Smack dab in the middle of the hood so bums are frequently asking for money.

Great food!! Not the sit dwn type of place but worth the standing and waiting. Location at night isn't for the weak of heart but the people are cool. Definitely going back next time im in Broward.

I've been coming here for more than 10+ years the food is always great. The best part about it is: 1.Freshly prepared per order 2. Able to eat it the next day like it was the 1st day & it tastes even better! And I'm American but this Haitian cuisine is the best in Broward!

The food is soooo good. I can’t tell you enough. Yes I know the neighborhood is rough but… the work Haitian magic in that kitchen. They do take a while to make your food and the is not where to sit. Honestly as a grown man I don’t feel safe but… this food is worth risking your life.

Love this place. The food is ALWAYS HOT, FRESH AND CONSISTENT! Considering the fried foods are MADE TO ORDER THE WAIT IS NOT LONG AT ALL. Their is always 5-10 people outside this place either waiting to order or picking up. Keep up the great work China
